Jazmin Maldonado, Editor
My name is Jazmin Maldonado and I am currently a senior at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. This is my second consecutive year creating content for The Roosevelt Review! Last year I was a journalist but this year I have attained the position of being an editor for our entertainment section! I can not wait to help facilitate the distribution of stories that speak on matters important to Roosevelt students! Writing has always been important to me. I feel privileged to be a voice that Roosevelt students can depend on to receive unbiased, newsworthy information. Aside from creative writing, my interests include painting, music, scrapbooking, and drawing! Growing up, any creative outlet where I could express myself was always where I tended to gravitate towards. As I’ve gotten older, the enthrallment that I have found in artistic endeavors continues to blossom! For example, when heading to college I intend to major in journalism and minor in creative writing!
The movie character that I chose to depict for my profile photo is Bianca Stratford from “10 Things I Hate About You.” I chose to portray the character Bianca Stratford specifically because I love her sarcastic, spunky attitude and really like how she evolves as a person throughout the movie and shifts her values for the better. Additionally, I simply love the movie “1o Things I Hate About You” and I am obsessed with Bianca Stratford’s style in the movie and the way that the movie depicts the high school experience.
I hope to work vigorously alongside fellow journalists and editors of The Roosevelt Review to produce content for Roosevelt students this school year and tell important stories that Roosevelt students want to hear and need to hear. I can not wait to continue my journey as part of The Roosevelt Review!
