Hello, everyone. My name is Chris Hilsinger-Pate, and I am a junior at Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
As you will all learn shortly, I am very passionate about sports. Although my favorite sports are football, baseball, and golf, I’ll be covering all of the different sports teams at the school. Sports provide outlets for people, and they are often successful in teaching various life-skills. John Wooden once said, “Sports do not build character. They reveal it”; I believe that quote highlights the beauty of sports.
I have been writing about football for about a year now. Being able to write about sports has sparked a great interest in writing, and I plan on continuing to feed my passion for sports and writing this year. The ability to cover the school’s sports teams will provide me with a tremendous opportunity to write about what I love.
I am excited to keep the student body at Eleanor Roosevelt and the community updated on the school’s teams.
