Boys’ Basketball Headed to Sacramento

Roosevelt’s boys’ basketball team is headed to Sacramento, California to compete in the Division I State Championship game. The game will be held at the Golden 1 Center, the home of the Sacramento Kings (NBA), on Friday, March 24th at 8:00 p.m.

James Logan High School (28-5) will be Roosevelt’s (25-8) opponent on Friday night. MaxPreps has James Logan ranked as the 46th best team in California, whereas Roosevelt is ranked as the eighth best team in the state.

In the CIF-Southern California Regional title game, Roosevelt beat their rival, the Centennial Huskies, for the fifth time this season. Matthew Mitchell had an outstanding game as he scored 35 points and had 11 rebounds. He and fellow superstar Jemarl Baker will be expected to have big games.

There’s no doubt that it’ll be tough, but a win on Friday would secure this year’s team a place in the record books. For those who can’t attend the game in-person, they’ll be able to watch it on Sportsnet LA.
