NFL Draft Approaches

NFL+Draft+Approaches

Chris Hilsinger-Pate, Staff Writer

Although it feels as if the NFL season just ended, the season is quickly approaching. This is marked by the arrival of the NFL Draft, which will occur from April 27th to April 29th; this year, it’ll be hosted in Philadelphia. Each team in the league will get an opportunity to build a championship team as they draft some of the best players from college football.

The draft is carried out in a seven-round format. Although each team is originally given one pick in each round, a number of trades have made it so that several teams have numerous picks in certain rounds.

On Thursday, April 27th, the first round of the draft will take place. This is typically the most exciting day of the draft as the top prospects are selected, and a trading frenzy typically occurs at the beginning of the draft. The festivities will begin at 3 p.m. as a red carpet event will be hosted, and the draft itself begins at 5 p.m. In the first round of the draft, each team is given 10 minutes to make their pick. The amount of time given to teams decreases by round.
