On Tuesday, October 4th, girls’ volleyball lost to Santiago by a score of three sets to none.

Although Roosevelt failed to win a set, the team did battle and put pressure on Santiago consistently. A number of communication errors by Roosevelt resulted in points for Santiago.

Roosevelt lost the first set by a score of 25-19 despite a late rally. They then, however,  started off the second set strong by scoring the first three points, but Santiago took control of the set after Roosevelt’s initial points. Although Roosevelt managed to get within one point of Santiago, the Sharks were able to pull away with the set by a score of 25-22.

The third set was undoubtedly the most exciting set of the night. Santiago jumped out to a quick lead, but Roosevelt was energized. Effort levels peaked, and the set was eventually tied at 18-18. Unfortunately, Roosevelt wasn’t able to ride their momentum as Santiago won the set by a score of 25-21.

After four league matches, Roosevelt stands at an even 2-2. They have an overall record of 4-3.
