RAYE’s new album, “This Music May Contain Hope,” was just released today, March 27. She had previously released three songs that were included in the album. They are “Click Clack Symphony,” which features Hans Zimmer, that was released on March 20, “Nightingale Lane,” released on February 27, and “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!'” released on September 19, 2025.
As someone who does not listen to RAYE, is this a good album?

The very first song in the album is just an intro, but it’s very strong. I think it sets up the whole album and shapes the whole message of it.
What I liked about all the songs was that they were creative with the beat and instrumentals, which was different from what I usually listen to. This is what made the songs so interesting, and I didn’t skip most of them.
There were many great songs in this album, but my top 3 would be “I Will Overcome,” “Beware… The South London Lover Boy,” and “Skin & Bones.” The instrumentals on those songs were amazing, and I really liked her vocals on them as well.
Tyler Smith, a freshman at ERHS and a listener of RAYE’s music, shared her favorite song.
“I love ‘The WhatsApp Shakespeare’,” Smith says. “It’s a funny name, but the actual song is really good, and I just love everything about it, especially the lyrics.”
For me, my least favorite song would be “Life Boat.” I did like the message the song was sending, but it was okay instrumentally. I skipped it halfway through, but there was nothing wrong with the inspiring meaning behind the song.
There are many people who have already expressed how much they liked the album, such as Jimena Lagunas, a freshman at ERHS.
“I don’t listen to RAYE, and I’ve only heard her popular songs,” Lagunas says. “But I gave the album a try, and I ended up liking it. It was a really cool and solid album.”
Overall, I think this was a really good album, in the eyes of someone who doesn’t listen to this artist. I really liked the meaning that the album carried throughout the album. It was mainly a bright and hopeful album, just as the title says. It’s worth listening to if you need a little brightness in your life.
