On June 12, The Army, The Navy, will release their album “Fake Brave Life.” The Army, The Navy have released two other albums, both in 2024, “Sugar For Bugs” and “Fruit For Flies.” This will be their biggest album, with a total of 11 songs, compared to seven in their past albums. What do we know, and what’s to be expected?
As mentioned before, this upcoming album will have 11 songs, and all the song names have been released. In order: “Becky,” “A Gift,” “Pretty, Pink and Soft,” “2 Collide,” “Big One,” “Down Debbie/Reservoir,” “Moody,” “Walls,” “Crimson and Clay,” “Stars Stay Awake,” and “Fake Brave.”
Three songs have already been released, which are “Pretty, Pink and Soft,” “2 Collide,” and “Walls.” I listened to them for the first time and found all of them really good. I would say my favorite song so far is “Walls” because the lyrics are meaningful to me, with one being “I wish I was tired of loving you deeply.”

Alana Pasillas, a freshman at ERHS, shared her opinion on the song, “Pretty, Pink and Soft.”
“It’s not my preferred genre of music,” Pasillas says. “But it’s a nice song and the lyrics stood out to me, so I think it’s pretty good.”
The songs that look the most interesting in the album that haven’t been released yet are “Down Debbie/Reservoir” and “Stars Stay Awake.” “Down Debbie/Reservoir” seems interesting because of the slash, so it’s making me think that it will be two songs in one. “Stars Stay Awake” is a cool name, so it makes me wonder if there could be a bigger meaning to it, which is likely.
Natalia Lin, a fan of The Army, The Navy, shared her excitement for the upcoming album.
“I’m so excited for this album, I think it will be their best one yet,” Lin says. “All their songs have a special spark in them, and that’s what I’m looking for in this upcoming album.”
Overall, this looks like it will be a very good album, so I’m hoping for it not to let me down, which I doubt. What I’m looking forward to the most are the lyrics of the songs, because I really like finding meaning in lyrics.
