As a continuation of Part 1 of my Los Angeles Travel Guide, here are some more places in Los Angeles that I highly recommend going to.
Los Angeles City Hall

The Los Angeles City Hall is the main office of the mayor of Los Angeles, built in 1928 in the famous Art Deco architectural style of the time. On the 27th floor, there is an observation deck for tourists to observe the Los Angeles skyline. The building is also the tallest base-isolated tower in the world, which is a method of construction to protect buildings against earthquakes.
If you do not want to go through the hassle of entering the building, you can just observe it from a few blocks away. After all, it is an important landmark in LA and looks especially beautiful at night.
California Science Center

The California Science Center is one of the most visited museums in America and is home to the famous Space Shuttle Endeavour, as shown in the photo above. The pavilion that stored this spacecraft was only temporary, and the Endeavour has been moved to a new, permanent exhibit. Regardless, the museum has other interesting exhibits that go over space science principles. Any space or science enthusiast will certainly enjoy this visit, but even someone who knows very little about space science can still find the visit interesting.
Battleship USS Iowa Museum and the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach

For history and war nerds, the USS Iowa is an iconic battleship that has served through three wars and has a long history. The USS Iowa is nicknamed the “Battleship of Presidents” as it has had many presidents onboard, even installing a special bathtub for FDR. Having the second-largest naval guns ever mounted, the USS Iowa was a monster for its time. Unfortunately, modern warships caused the USS Iowa to be decommissioned for the final time in 1990, and the battleship is now stationed at the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach, where it is docked as a museum ship. From the ship, you can look at the port workers unloading cargo from container ships, and get a view of the Pacific Ocean.
Wilshire Grand Center

The Wilshire Grand Center is the tallest building in Los Angeles and in California. Completed in 2017, it surpassed the iconic U.S. Bank Tower as LA’s tallest. While the bulk of the skyscraper has a hotel and some corporate spaces, the upper floors have restaurants and an observation deck for visitors. This building also has the second-fastest elevators in North America. On the 70th floor, you can find a hotel lobby open to the public. Surrounded by windows, this space acts as an observation deck for a great view of Downtown Los Angeles and the horizon beyond it.
What students think about LA
“Traveling to LA is really crowded, but it’s really beautiful at the same time. The food in the area is really nice, especially street food,” said ERHS and eSTEM student Abdallah Abdellatif, when asked what he felt about traveling to Los Angeles.
“The people in LA are nice and friendly. They are social and willing to help,” shared Kyle Ho, when asked about the people and atmosphere in LA,
Los Angeles is a large city with plenty to do. There are plenty of tourist attractions for everyone, no matter what your hobby is. Los Angeles also has a vibrant street life and culture, so anyone will be able to enjoy a trip!
