With Mitski’s new song, “Where’s My Phone?,” that was released last Thursday, and her upcoming album, “Nothing’s About to Happen to Me,” releasing on February 26, there’s a lot to talk about. What’s to be expected in this album?
The album set list has been released, which includes (in order): “In a Lake,” “Where’s My Phone?” “Cats,” “If I Leave,” “Dead Women,” “Instead of Here,” “I’ll Change for You,” “Rules,” “That White Cat,” “Charon’s Obol,” and “Lighting.” The song names are interesting, and I’m curious to see how each song sounds.
The song, “Where’s My Phone?” is a different style from her usual songs, however, that’s not a bad thing. The song is more rock, which is more like her past covers and unreleased songs. It personally reminds me of her song “Dan the Dancer.” “Where’s My Phone?” is a great song with beautiful lyrics, which are relatable to many people, including me. It sets up a good feel of what the album will be like.

Destiny Cofer, a junior at ERHS, says how she liked the song.
“I like her new song so much, I have it on repeat,” Cofer shared. “The lyrics are relatable and the vibe is more like rock. I hope the other songs on the album are also going to have that vibe.”
With her new song and the recent promo, it’s getting Mitski fans excited for the whole album. The song names in the album sound interesting, like “Dead Women.” Personally, I have high hopes that this will be one of her best albums yet.
Tori Hashimoto, a junior at ERHS, shared her opinion on the upcoming album.
“I love Mitski and her music a lot,” Hashimoto says. “I’m excited to listen to her whole album when it comes out. It sounds like it’s gonna be an amazing album.”
