Spring break is finally here, after a long few months of school. Once students get back, the school year is almost done. Seniors will be graduating, and summer break will approach. But for now, students are excited and focused on their week-long break and plans.
During spring week, the weather is predicted in California to be possibly rainy and cold. A major shift from the hot weather we’ve been experiencing these past few weeks. So many students are planning to travel outside of the state to get better weather or possibly to see family and friends.
Some students have shared locations such as Florida, Utah, New York, New York City, Vegas, Washington DC, and more. Some students are even flying out of the country, like Japan or Europe, to visit family or to see the beautiful sites. Some people stay in California but travel as far as well, possibly up north.
“I’m going to go camping this spring break,” said Amira Lacy, a junior at ERHS, “I’m excited to spend the week outside.”

However, you don’t need to travel to have a fulfilling and relaxing break. Some students shared that they’ll be staying home, but they’ll be busy.
Some kids, while spring cleaning, or they’ll be pursuing hobbies like art or music that they can’t pursue because of the school workload. Some kids are travelling for sports, or have practice over the break to prepare for games upcoming when they get back. There are also many TV shows to catch up on, and new movies that have come out, like Project Hail Mary or Hoppers.
“I’ll probably rewatch Gilmore Girls again, or Percy Jackson,” said Destiny Coffer, a junior at ERHS.
Spring break is a time for hard-working students at Eleanor Roosevelt High School to finally relax and take a break before all the finals begin. Once students get back, they’ll have to get straight into testing once again and sports. But that won’t last long, because before you know it, summer break will be just around the corner.
