“Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2” finally came out earlier this week, and there are many new things in this new season!
The first, and one of the worst changes, of the new season are the raise in V-bucks prices. Fortnite has lowered the overall V-bucks you get for the same previous prices, for example, 1,000 V-bucks used to be $9, but now it has been changed to 800 V-bucks for $9. Fortnite has said that they made this change due to the cost of running Fortnite going up, and they need to “pay the bills.” Most players are upset about this “inflation” that has hit Fortnite now too. I honestly don’t know why Fortnite even did this because if Fortnite’s V-bucks prices are lower, more players will buy V-bucks, but if they are higher, then less players will want to buy V-bucks. First it was McDonald’s Ice Cream, and now it’s Fortnite V-bucks? Why does inflation have to be so mean?
The next new thing in Chapter 7 Season 2 are the four new POIs (Points of Interest).
Frigid Fortress has overtaken Season 1’s Clawsy Lodge. It is now a massive ice castle, home to the Ice King, sitting in snow.
Squibbly Shores has been added to replace Bumpy Bay. This bay has Zero Point energy that has changed the location somewhat.
Dark Dominion has been altered from Lethal Labs. The Dark Voyager has completely taken over this location, and you can eliminate the Dark Voyager boss to acquire his Mythic Chaos Reloader Shotgun.
New Sanctuary has been renovated from Classified Canyon. It has been given a more techy look, and is a base to The Foundation, along with The Order. More members of The Seven could also eventually appear at New Sanctuary sometime this season.
The new season also gave us a refresh on the loot pool. There are many previous weapons that came back this season, and a couple new ones too. They also added a few new mobility items that vary in opinions.

ERHS Freshmen Selah Barrett shared what she likes most about Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2
“The thing I like most about the new season is the feud between the Seven and the Ice King,” Barrett said. “I thought it put a nice theme to the whole season, and it did good at building suspense about what’s going to happen next.”
ERHS Freshmen Lucas Ocampo also gave his opinion on the new season.
“I like that the Rock is in Fortnite once again, and that when I am picked to drive the Battle Bus, the other players in the match can trust me to drive the Battle Bus towards their wanted drop spot as much as I can do so,” Ocampo said.
This season feels very new considering it is just a new season and not a new chapter. The way Fortnite is going with their returning story and gameplay, it honestly feels refreshing. Maybe even a new era of prime Fortnite is being made?
