Global tensions have been rising recently, and we can see it through the Ukraine War. However, now it was more focused on the Middle East. On February 28, 2026, the United States of America and the State of Israel launched military strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This marked a huge impact since the leader of Iran died just on the first day of bombing. It also proved that the USA will continually be involved in the Middle East, even though the general public doesn’t want the country to be involved in it. It is not officially declared war because the Congress has not yet voted to declare war; it is currently called the 2026 Iran Conflict. But considering the size of the offensive, which includes two aircraft carrier fleets and dozens of airbases, it seems like it would turn into a war very soon.

The current situation in Iran persists with Israel and the United States continually bombing Iran, but there are different views on this.
Justin Tesoro, a college student, says, “I think this is a very foolish decision by Trump to start another conflict outside of our country when we’re already struggling so much domestically.”
Justin criticizes the president’s decision to start a conflict with a foreign nation when America is already unstable internally. His concern shows that many people might be against the president’s decision.
Jacob Wendrick, a college student, says, “Us being over-involved is quite a concern for me since we’re using our money and our men to do something that benefits someone else.”
Jacob sees this new conflict as a waste of resources and manpower since it won’t benefit the United States that much. Additionally, he also showed worries about America being too deeply involved with Middle Eastern matters.
We might be facing the start of a new era of conflict if this conflict continues for a long time, which is what most people seem to be worrying about.
