With Valentine’s Day coming up tomorrow, I wrote this poem dedicated to the people who only like Valentine’s Day for the sweet treats. Whether a family member or a friend gives you the treat, or maybe you even buy it yourself, enjoy it to the fullest! Some valentines can be donuts, candy or chocolate. So don’t feel sad for not having an actual person for a valentine, because treats never fail.
Enjoy reading!
I walk on the streets
love and hearts fill the air
teddy bears and roses in every hand
I wish I could have a valentine
I don’t think Valentine’s Day is my thing
Too many couples and kisses
I’m so alone
What should I do?
I walk into the store
It’s red and pink everywhere
It hurts my eyes
I almost turn away
Then, I see my valentine
Maybe it’s a box of chocolates
or donuts
or those little heart candies
Either way, I couldn’t ask for more
I couldn’t choose my valentine
so I took them all
I understand Valentine’s Day now
it’s all about the delicious sweets
Chocolate melts in my mouth

Donuts are fluffy and light
Candy is filled with love
They are all my valentine
The next day
I see broken hearts everywhere
Love is drained in the air
These couples are no more
This is why I keep my sweets
I ate them all
and I will eat more
They never let me down
Love and hearts
Handwritten letters
They all sound nice
but my chocolate is waiting for me at home
I don’t think I could have a lover
because I believe
My heart belongs with sweets
and only sweets
Love is too much
I’ll keep my candy
