adult film star Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, makes a special appearance on the May 5th episode of “Saturday Night Live!” portraying herself in the Cold Open.

The May 4th episode of the NBC live comedy-sketch show “Saturday Night Live!” was filled with pleasant surprises as host Donald Glover brought his A-game in a series of funny, biting sketches, although opinions vary about them on social media and to those watching. He also served as the night’s musical guest under his rapper stage name Childish Gambino, performing two new singles, one of them being “This is America,” whose music video was later posted on his YouTube channel as the night progressed. The video itself has stirred discussion with its significant meanings and messages.

Glover’s diverse sketches ranged from him playing a lawyer defending Jurassic Park from a tourist who plans to sue the park for damages, a marketing executive tasked with providing captions for Barbie’s social media accounts and an 1980’s lover following who he thinks is his cheating lover in a parody of the 1986 Oran “Juice” Jones single “The Rain” and its music video.

NBC’s revamped promotional poster of Donald Glover’s hosting gig of their comedy-sketch show “Saturday Night Live!” The episode premiered on the evening of May 5th, but this poster was released a day before to fall in line with Star Wars Day, which was “May the 4th.” Glover will play a younger version of the prominent “Star Wars” character Lando Calrissian in the upcoming movie “Solo: A Star Wars Story” set to be in theaters May 25th.

Glover also did a bit that parodied the hit move “A Quiet Place” in which he plays a character that just can’t help but make his friends gossip about Kanye West in the quiet, and ultimately lead them to their deaths.

Other sketches involved Glover having sex with a girlfriend who isn’t the best at “talking dirty”, his own take on Migos and rappers in group therapy -A$AP Rocky makes an appearance – as well as a sketch that goes behind the scenes on the men behind the customer service voice among others.

Oh, and there was a sketch on basketball player Lebron James’ Cavaliers entourage among other things that was unaired, but can be found on the “SNL” YouTube channel.

Glover’s hosting gig on “SNL” is believed to serve as promotion for the upcoming film “Solo: A Stars Story,” where he plays a younger version of popular “Star Wars” character Lando Calrissian, donning the mantel from actor Billy Dee Williams, who famously played him in the original trilogy. In fact, Glover played Lando in an “SNL” sketch that made fun of the lack of black characters in the “Star Wars” films.

But the biggest surprise, arguably, was the special appearance of adult film star Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, who portrayed herself in the show’s Cold Open (the opening sketch that starts off each “SNL” show) in which she chats with President Trump (played once again by Alec Baldwin) about what she wants to make the whole scandal debacle go away: “your resignation.” It was followed by a later comment on the show in which Daniels warned Trump that “a storm’s a-coming” his way.

This, of course, is in reference to allegations Daniels has made recently in which she claims that Trump had sexual relations with her back in 2006, something he later tried to cover up by paying a settlement to her a few days before the election through his lawyer Michael Cohen (played in the Cold Open by Ben Stiller). Trump has since denied these claims Daniels has made.

In addition to Daniel’s shocking appearance and Stiller’s 2nd time playing Cohen, the Cold Open was filled with cameos from a variety of stars alongside “SNL” cast members, with actress Scarlett Johansson playing Ivanka Trump, late-night show host Jimmy Fallon playing Jared Kushner, and comedian Martin Short playing Trump’s former doctor Harold Borenstein.

Currently, “SNL” has been criticized by some as being left-wing with a liberal bias. ERHS students who watch or heard of “SNL” have proven to possess mixed opinions about the show in light of its alleged bias.

When asked about his thoughts on “SNL,” ERHS Senior student Kevin Tao simply responded “No,” signifying his distain for the show.
