In late 2025, tariffs on imports were lowered from 25% to 15%. However, with the recent events, President Trump is now threatening to raise the tariffs on cars imported from the European Union back up to 25%. This could significantly affect the prices of the vehicles, especially the luxury cars such as Lamborghini.
There are many concerns about this issue. It will have a devastating impact on the automobile industry since almost all luxury cars are imported from Europe, as well as many other famous brands. Due to tightened supplies caused by tariffs but steady demands, prices might increase exponentially higher than expected just from the tariffs.

Garrett Yu, a car enthusiast, expressed his sadness towards the increased prices of cars. He stated that this tariff could leave a huge damage to the automobile industry that would take a very long time to recover.
“It is really sad to see that cars are getting more expensive year after year, and this just put a nail in the coffin,” said Garrett.
Jimmy Zhang, a college student, shared his concern for the future generation that needs to buy a car in the future due to the steep increase in prices.
“I mean, I don’t really care because it’s not like I’m going to buy another car it really is unfortunate that prices are going up,” Jimmy said.
There seem to be many concerns about the rising prices caused by tariffs in many different ways, and it happened to be automobiles this time. There are many questions about what this change would bring to America, mostly wondering how the supply would meet the demand. If supply is not met, price will increase drastically since the item will become rarer. There are many hopes that the tariff war will end soon because of the huge backlash against the tariffs, increasing the cost of living.
