Singer D4VD, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernadez. This timeline has been going on for a while now, since the fall of last year, when, in September, Celeste’s body was found bagged up and decomposed in D4VD’s Tesla.
Celeste Rivas Hernández was missing for over a year when they finally found her. She was reported missing in April 2024, but this was not the first time she was missing; she was reported missing three times just in the first four months of 2024.
Celeste Middle School’s boyfriend was interviewed and gave insight into why she might have gone and run on many occasions. “She would say that her parents were very mean and that she didn’t like being home.”
He even added on to this statement, saying she would joke around, talking about running away.
Celeste Rivas Hernaadez is from Lake Elsinore, California, about an hour out of Los Angeles and 30 minutes away from Eleanor Roosevelt High School. She met D4VD when she was as young as 12 years old on the app Discord.
Discord is a social app mostly used by computer gamers to communicate while playing games.
In Discord, there are servers you can make where it is a hub for communities like famous YouTubers or famous celebrities, or you can even make one just for you and your friends only.
Celeste and D4VD met on D4VD’s Discord server “David’s Closet.”
D4vd, as of Monday, April 20, has been charged with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. D4VD has pleaded not guilty to these charges and could face life in prison.
“I think it’s crazy, honestly, there are no words I can describe how I think about its just a crazy situation,” said Senior Aidan Lupian, when asked his thoughts on this situation.
“I think he’s for sure guilty, and he’s probably going to be in prison for life,” said Leyton Skillern when asked the same question.
