With the recent conflict in Iran, Israel and the United States earlier this month to start the conflict. Almost immediately after, many people started evacuating from their country, including the heads of the country.
Shortly after, there were many rumors of Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, being dead due to the senator of Israel refusing to answer his survival. Not only that, but Netanyahu hasn’t shown himself for a long time since the start of the conflict. These fueled the rumor and eventually made it into the mainstream media and brought many controversies around the world, arguing whether he is really dead or not.
As a response to this rumor, Israel has posted a ‘Proof of Life’ video to show that Netanyahu is well and alive. However, there were many parts of the video that seemed AI, even further fueling the rumor once again.

Addison Lam, a high school student, says, “I think he is dead because there is no other reason to make this issue so big if you can just solve it by showing up once.”
Addison argued that Netanyahu might actually be dead because of how they’re making the issue bigger when they could’ve solved it very easily by making Netanyahu show up in public instead of uploading a recorded video that could potentially be AI-generated.
Taylor Wong, a high school student, says, “It’s just a speculation, but the way they act makes it more suspicious for me.”
Taylor first showed his doubt on rumor being true, but he later showed his suspicion due to how the Israeli government responded to the issue.
Although opinion on this rumor is heavily divided, there seems to be reasonable suspicion among many people due to how the government is responding to this rumor, making it unnecessarily bigger.
