A 5-1 win against New York City FC last Saturday, November 29 in the Eastern Conference Finals. Making Inter Miami 2025 MLS Eastern Conference Champions for the first time in the clubs history. Miami’s Tadeo Allende scored a hat trick making him the MVP of the game and being an important player in the game.
By winning the Eastern Conference final they secured their spot in the 2025 MLS Cup Final against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on December 6.
Vancouver beat San Diego FC 3-1 also last Saturday, November 29 in the Western Conference Finals. Making them Western Conference Champions, and moving on against Miami in the MLS Cup Final.
Statistics currently show that Miami has a 54% chance of winning the final, while Vancouver only has a 24% chance of victory. Miami has had a better performance over the entire 2025 MLS Season, with 65 points by the time the regular season ended, and Vancouver only racking up 63. Statistics don’t always determine the outcomes of games like these, but they sure do have some truth and reliability to them.
I asked ERHS Boy’s Head Soccer Coach, Coach Lopiccolo if he thinks Inter Miami will win the final this Saturday, and this was his response;
“To be honest, I have not watched much MLS this year. Miami does have 4 players who used to play for Barcelona at the same time. Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi. With that kind of experience, Miami should be favored.”
I also asked ERHS Boy’s Soccer Coach, Coach Bonanken the same question, and this was his response;
“I think it will be Inter Miami who just come out on top. Despite Muller’s good form and the leadership he’s brought with him since signing for this Vancouver side, Miami are in great form. Also, the spotlight will always be on Messi but they have this other attacker Tadeo Allende who can’t stop scoring right now. Between the experience that their Barcelona core brings as well as the firepower we are seeing from Allende and co, they will probably come out on top.”
“This next part can be on or off the record since it is 100% opinion, but I hope Vancouver take it. I like underdog stories when it comes to leagues that I am not invested in and I LOVE Thomas Muller.”
Many are calling the upcoming final Messi (Miami) VS Muller (Vancouver), both the team captains of there clubs, and have had played against each other many times before, both in club, and international games.
They also have both won a World Cup before. Messi with Argentina at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and Muller with Germany at the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
Who will lead their team to victory? Will Miami become MLS Cup Champions for the first time in club history? Or will Vancouver and Muller prove everyone wrong and steal the title from them? That shall all be decided this Saturday, December 6 starting at 11:30 AM PST.
