March 10, 2026, was a day that will be remembered in sports forever.
On March 6, a blockbuster trade was agreed upon with the Ravens and the Raiders, who would send a top-three defensive end, Maxx Crosby, to the Ravens. In exchange, the Raiders would get two first-round picks, number 14 from this year and one for next year.
This was a great deal for both parties. Yes, the Ravens did give up a lot of draft capital but got a huge addition to a much-needed gap in their defense, and with the Raiders now in a rebuild, it gave them more youth in their team.
But this trade hit a 360 turn when on March 10, the Ravens decided that they wanted to back out of this deal, because they said that when Croby came to Baltimore and did his physicals, he failed their test.
The Media speculated that they backed out of the deal because they realized they could get free agent Trey Hendrickson, someone who is on the same caliber as Crosby, without giving up their draft capital. Plus, this deal was very out of the ordinary to begin with because they have never traded away a first-round pick in the history of their franchise.
On March 10 in the WBC team USA played team Italy in a game where Italy would upset the powerhouse USA 8-6 this game featured crazy moments from White Sox players Kyle Teel and Sam Antoncci hitting home runs for team Italy or PCA’s three run bomb in the tournament Italy would go on to make it to the semifinals and lose to eventualy WBC winner Venezula 4-2.
The most eventful thing of all for March 10 was Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game, becoming the second-highest points scored, now in front of Kobe’s historic 81-point game against Toronto in 2006 and behind Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game in 1962.
Even with one of the most historic performances in an NBA game of all time and passing Kobe’s record, some believe that Kobe’s performance was better because of Adebayo’s free throws during the game, scoring 36 of his 83 points from free throws.
Adebayo started off his performance with an astonishing 31-point 1st quarter, six points behind the most points scored in a quarter by future Hall of Famer, Klay Thompson. Adebayo finished the first quarter with 43 points. He then continued to rack up the points in the second half, scoring 19 in the third and finishing it up with 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Fans have varying opinions about the Adebayo-Kobe comparison.
Television host and sports analyst Steve A. Smith said on his podcast, “When we compare it, there has to be three on this list, Wilt Chamberlain doesn’t even get the nod above Kobe because nobody saw it other than the spectators… Whereas Kobe, we saw it live and in living color, and this brother was doing it all, so Kobe goes down as the greatest single-game performance we ever witnessed.”
Others hold more admiration for Adebayo.
“Bam Adebayo the goat even more than Kobe Bryant,” said sophomore Trent Claudius. “Now, when I throw stuff in the trash, I yell ‘Adebayo!’ ”
On the other hand, substitute teacher Mr. Guzman said, “I think Kobe Bryants 81 point game was more impressive because there were fewer points made from free throws.”
