Did you hear that “Moana 2” is coming out on November 27, 2024? In “Moana 2,” Maui, Moana, and new explorers journey across Oceania following an unexpected call Moana receives from her ancestors.
In the film, Moana reunites with Maui and they conquer their next journey together. This film introduces Moana’s little sister Simea and features new musical tracks! The villain of this movie is a character named Matangi. The cast of “Moana 2” includes Dwayne Johnson, Alan Tudyk, Nicole Scherzinger, Auli’i Cravalho, Rose Matafeo, Temurea Morrison, Hualalai Chung, and David Fane. Many people were very happy to hear that Auli’i Cravalho was back to be the voice actress for Moana once again.
The “Moana 2” presentation began with Cravalho singing a new original song for “Moana 2” titled, “We’re Back,” while joined by dancers and drummers from Nonosina Polynesia under the direction of Tiana Liufau, who assisted in the animation reference choreography in the original film. Grammy-winning songwriters Abigal Barlow and Emily Bear, and Pacific legend Opeatia Foa’i alongside composer Mark Mancina, are both returning and song-writing for “Moana 2.” In this film, directors David Derrik Jr., Jason Hand, and Danna Ledoux Miller take the reins from the film directors of the original “Moana.”
While interviewing a couple of students around campus most of the people were excited and happy to hear this news but London Collins went into depth on how she felt.
“I loved the first Moana but I think that it would’ve been better if instead of it being her sister that came along in the movie it should of been Moana’s daughter,” Collins said.
Another student Jacob Alejandre also chimed in.
“I don’t really care for any Disney movies but it seems like a pretty cool movie to watch,” Alejandre said.
Overall there were many different opinions in this movie coming out but I’m very excited because Moana has been my favorite Disney princess ever since the original movie came out.
