Wrong doing.

Last Wednesday at New Vision Academy Charter School in Nashville, Tennessee a teacher got suspended after a video of her and a few of the students in her class were shown harassing then later pulling off a students hijab. When a reporter went to New Vision Academy Charter school to speak with the principle, Tim Malone, the principle said “exposing the girl’s hair was not done out of disrespect.” The video shows the girls hijab being pulled off in the classroom, where she is supposed to be in a safe bully free learning environment, and multiple students are seen playing with her hair and someone was heard saying in the video “your hair is too pretty to be covered.”

Orange County Register did a survey and found 53% of Muslim students surveyed in California say they have been bullied over religion.

Although the teacher was suspended i believe the damage is still there. That student will remember this all of her life. Bullying no matter what form it comes in must be stopped.
