Visual Arts DLI Showcase

Drawing and Painting is a popular elective on campus, but did you know that specific students can also take this class in Spanish? Here on campus, there are students in the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program that take Drawing and Painting and Mural Art as DLI. With many talented artists in the classes, here are some of the artworks that are found around the classroom.

Vanessa Alejos is a freshman who enjoys reading, drawing, baking, and talking with her friends. Her favorite manga is “Jujutsu Kaisen” by Gege Akutami, and her favorite book series is “One of Us is Lying” by Karen M. McManus. Her favorite music artists are Big Thief, Tyler The Creator, Chappell Roan, Mitski and Genesis. She joined journalism to be able to write all types of stories, whether they are informational, fun or simple. Her goal this year in journalism is to write a story that changes at least one person’s perspective. Her picture is inspired by Tyler, The Creator’s album cover, “Igor.”
