The 2026 LX Super Bowl is heavily regarded as being the worst and most boring game in a while. The game ended at 29-13, between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. It began on February 8 and lasted around three and a half to four hours at Levi’s Stadium. Many dislike how non-competitive and boring it was. The Patriots had struggled throughout most of the game, showing signs of low effort. The halftime show affected the game in a negative way for some. Not to mention the quarterback rating for the Patriots, Drake Maye completed the game with the second-lowest efficiency since the year 2000. Despite these factors, it was watched by millions of people. Approximately reeling in 124.9 million viewers, only 2% below the all-time record.
In my opinion, I honestly think the game itself was a bit boring and bland. As far as the halftime show goes, I thought it was phenomenal. It represented the entire continent of America and brought people closer together despite race or gender. It was something fresh, new, and unique. It also recognized the Latin group as a whole. Which I believe is desperately needed during a time like this. Bad Bunny is, overall, a decent person. He donates to children in need, believes in racial equality, and gives his fans the same respect they give him. The show he performed was extremely entertaining on television.
In terms of the actual game, I am glad the Seahawks won, although I didn’t mind who won. Sadly, I had missed when Green Day had performed. Adding onto what I said for Bad Bunny’s performance, Green Day is immensely political and the right pick for the Super Bowl. Both shows sent valuable and clear messages to the citizens and leaders of the United States.
Despite my stance on the Super Bowl, there are other opinions. For example, Donald Trump claims that it is “absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!” on Truth Social. Daniel Coburn, an employee at Lewis Group of Companies real estate developer, said, “I think the Patriots are fraudulent and one of the worst teams to ever make the Super Bowl. I also thought the real Super Bowl was the week before between the Rams and Seahawks.”
