This Friday is Halloween, and Eleanor Roosevelt High School is allowing clubs to advertise themselves with an event deemed Halloween Lawnch. Roosevelt clubs will decorate their booths in spooky ways while also providing fun activities and prizes for students during first and second lunch.
Students are encouraged to dress up on campus and engage with as many clubs as possible for the best experience. Certain teachers are also providing fun activities and sweet treats throughout the day for students who stop by.
But the Associated Student Body (ASB) Club Commissioners are the reason Halloween Lawnch exists. Some Club Commissioners shared their processes and thoughts about Halloween Lawnch and what the event is all about.

Katelynn Tapia, an ASB member who helped to organize Lawnch, explained the event by saying,”[Hallowen Lawnch] is basically another opportunity like club rush. It’s a chance for clubs to express themselves and talk to potential members.”
ASB member, Vaishnavi Varadharaja Prabhu, said, “Each club gets creative with the designs, which I love. I know Culinary Club plans to do a vampire theme, and another club is doing a Monster High Theme. It is very different for each club, and that’s part of what makes it so fun.”
Prabhu added, “This year, thirty-five clubs are participating, which is eleven more than last year. The clubs literally stretch all the way from the quad to the D building.”
Another ASB Club Commissioner, Vanessa Contreras, said, “The clubs will come at seven in the morning to set up on Friday, and then go to class regularly and work the lunch they would normally have.”
Tapia concluded the interview by saying, “Talk to all the booths and clubs! Each club is so unique, and it’s never too late to join one and have fun.”
Each club provides a unique activity for students. ERHS Journalism is doing sweet notes and some pictures with Edward Cullen, while ERHS Book Lovers is doing a murder mystery activity. The prizes range from cake pops to candy, and the unique activities and experiences are endless.
