Spookfest is an event that happens at ERHS every year and is hosted by STEM. This year, on October 24, 2025, Spookfest happened once more! Spookfest is an event that ERHS likes to celebrate near Halloween. The event encourages people to join clubs and is a fun outing for students to enjoy and experience before Halloween makes its debut in the world.
This year, many clubs are participating in Spookfest, including Chess Club, Women’s Empowerment Club, Sprouts Club, and Badminton Club, just to name a few. These clubs prepare booths, activities, and games for students to interact with, creating a lively and engaging environment around campus.

Spookfest allows students to learn more about the clubs offered at ERHS while enjoying Halloween-themed fun. From candy giveaways to creative decorations, every booth has something different to offer, making the event unique and exciting for everyone involved.
Adrian Briseno, president of the Chess Club, describes Spookfest as a “Really good experience,” sharing how “We [his club] didn’t think it would go this well, but the event helped us get a lot of exposure.”
From this, we can take away that Spookfest was a fun experience that gets clubs to participate and put themselves out there with an opportunity like this.
Another student, Kyle Monton, also commented on the event, saying that “Spookfest was really fun, and I went to several booths and ate delicious tacos.” Although Monton notes that “The ‘haunted maze’ felt more noisy than scary.”
This insight further shows how Spookfest encourages students to participate, have fun, and explore new interests during the school year, with a few adjustments to improve the experience.
Spookfest continues to be an important tradition that brings the school community together, allowing both clubs and students to enjoy a spirited event before the Halloween season officially begins.
