Shedeur Sanders didn’t tone down his confidence at Jackson State and Colorado. Now, there’s no reason for him not to approach the path to the NFL.
He predicted the impact he expects to make in the NFL “We went from Jackson State to Colorado and changed two programs back to back. So you don’t think I could come to an NFL franchise and change the program again? It’s history. We’ve done it again. It’s always going to repeat itself,” said Sanders to ESPN.
Sanders’ confidence is due to his media sessions. He was also followed by a personal videographer who was documenting all of his moves in Indianapolis. It is known that Sander’s confidence would be due to his college success. Along with star-two player Travis Hunter, Sanders helped turn around Colorado’s fate from a 1-11 team in 2022 before turning it to 4-8 a year later, then turning it to 9-4 during 2024.
Sander confidently promised to do it again in the NFL.
“That’s the plan. If that’s not what you’re trying to do, don’t [pick] me. You should know history repeats itself over and over and over, and I’ve done it over and over and over. So, there should be no question,” Sander states in the same interview for ESPN.
He also states in his ESPN interview that he’s not going to change his approach when meeting NFL clubs, “It was easy meeting with people because I’m going to be myself. It’s like you either like you or you don’t.”
Sander is viewed as one of the top quarterbacks, but it could be assumed that Miami’s Cam Ward could be selected before him. While this might happen, Sander believes he thinks of himself as the top available quarterback. Sanders continues in ESPN, “I’ve (turned around teams) at two locations already. So it’s simple. So that’s why when people say I’m not one of the top quarterbacks or the top quarterback, what are y’all going based off?.”
I interviewed an Eleanor Roosevelt High School freshman named Cici Pan, and she stated, “I heard that he’s really good.”
I also interviewed another ERHS freshman Danielle Catudio and she stated, “I don’t know anything about football.”
