For those of you who cannot decide on which matte liquid lipstick brand you should buy, here’s a comparison of the several kinds that are out there:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills, $20– This lipstick is specifically known to not be too liquidy nor too bulky. If you’re looking for something in between the both of those, this is the perfect brand for you. There’s not much chipping after it is applied, and the brush applicator is high quality in which will make it much easier for you to put it on. (22 shades available)
  • MAC, $20– This one has a very unique lip applicator unlike others because its quite pointy at the top and has a small indention in the middle of the brush. It has more of a creamy texture, and it stays completely on for about four hours at most. The lipstick has a bunch of undertone vanilla scents added to it. (15 shades available)
  • Tarte, $20– The applicator is thick and rounded ended making it quite difficult to get the smaller parts of your lips filled in. Many would agree that overall this liquid lipstick is uncomfortable to wear. The best part of it would probably have to be the minty scent. It lasts for about 5 hours. (13 shades available)
  • L’Oreal Paris, $7.99– One similarity that you might be able to notice is that it has a brush applicator almost like MAC, except it’s much more shorter. The texture is like a gel, although it doesn’t last as long as higher end brands. It’s very comfortable to wear, but you’re trading that for about 2 1/2 hours of time that it’s on your lips. (10 shades available)
  • Ofra, $19.90– This brand is known for having unusual and unique colors, so if you’re looking for that hard to find color then this is the place to go. It even contains metallic, in which most places don’t have colors like these created. It does have a cookie dough scent to it, but be sure to not be too tempted to eat it right off your lips. In the sense of it being comfortable and uncomfortable, it’s kind of in between the both. (43 shades available)
  • Nyx, $5.99– This applicator is similar to the one of Ofra’s, containing a doe foot shape. Due to the fact that it is inexpensive, it doesn’t last very long. The texture is opaque and creamy, and doesn’t seem to dry up your lips too much. Overall it’s pretty good for the price that you pay for it. (34 shades available)
  • Jeffree Star, $18– The applicator is very fluffy which could be appealing to many. The popular shades are usually sold out for the most part, so be sure to get the color you want right away before it’s gone. Unlike the other brands, this doesn’t have the same pleasant scent. It would probably have to be described as a penicillin that doctors use, and it has a very dry texture. (21 shades available)
  • Kat Von D, $20– The texture is not too watery nor too bulky, and is opaque with just one layer of lipstick. It seems to stay on pretty good, and doesn’t feel super dried out. The applicator is the doe foot shape, and the scent is indeed a mild chemical sweetness. (28 shades available)
  • Maybelline, $7.99– The applicator is flat, and the liquid is a cream/gel texture with a less matte look than other brands. It lasts for about three hours, and feels dry after two hours. It’s good quality for the price you pay, but obviously there’s more brands that work better than this one. (10 shades available)
  • Colourpop, $6– Without a doubt this is a very watery lipstick, but that doesn’t make much of a difference if you know how to apply it correctly. You may have to apply a very coats due to the texture it comes it, and dries up quickly. These are known to be sold on their online website. It lasts for about three hours. (43 shades available)
  • Kylie Cosmetics, $14– These have become very popular over a short time period, and are still currently been bought by many others. The popular shades usually get sold out faster than others, but will back after restock. You are able to buy them online, or the Kylie Cosmetics store. The matte lipsticks come in singles if you just want it by itself, or in a lip kit if you also want a lip liner. (25 shades available)

*The amount of shades available may vary due to limited time offers or discontinuing of the product.
