Sam Smith is BACK!

Ariana Scott, Staff Writer

Sam Smith is back and better than ever with new music for his fans and is once again, not a disappointment. It has been three years since his first album In the Lonely Hour and on his new album The Thrill of it All, he speaks truthfully about his past and his personal  issues that most of us did not know.

With having Grammy’s and Oscars under his belt, and many other astonishing award wins, Smith says he still feels like “it’s been just about that long since it seemed like there was anything he could do right”, he speaks on how long it has been since his first album and all the accomplishments he made according to the NY Times. He also cried during an interview in West Hollywood when talking about all of the things he has had to go through with not only the industry but with his own self. He expresses his emotions of how he felt when he wrote the song Pray( one of his songs on The Thrill of it All) and how it made him cry.

When he dropped his first studio album, he then came out that he was gay, and although that took a toll on him because coming out is never easy, it blew his whole career up with the whole LGBTQ topic being so controversial at the time.

Fans are loving his new stuff and are preordering his album on his website samsmithworld.com . He has yet to say when he is going to drop his album in stores and on other music apps, but as of right now these are the following songs on The Thrill of it All: Too Good at Goodbyes, Burning, Pray, etc.

Harmony Johnson, a senior in high school, says that Too Good at Goodbyes ” Made her cry and she relates to the song really hard.” His lyrics in there are very powerful in there and he speaks about a man that he loves, but the man doesn’t love him back. Very deep, yet very sad, yet very relateable.

“Pray is a very hard song to listen to because you can LITERALLY feel what he is going through, just by his voice and words,” says a fan of Smith’s, Angelica Lacson.
