Halloween’s most loved and well known movie, Disney’s “Hocus Pocus,” is said to be making a remake with returning producer David Kirschner and new writer Scarlett Lacy. Many beloved fans are said to have mixed emotions about the remake, especially actress Bette Midler who played one of the main Sinifred sisters in the original 1993 film.

“I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!” she told People magazine and that she would not plan on returning to the new project. As for Sarah Jessica Parker, she has agreed to reprise the role if need be in the newest remake. Kathy Najimy has yet to comment on the reprise of “Hocus Pocus”.

As for the fans from then and now, many have said they would be excited to see a remake of the spooktacular film. Fans have thought of who would reprise these roles or be included in the new film, sharing on social media websites. Ideas have circled around to bring a more culturally diverse cast within the remake of Disney’s “Hocus Pocus,” that can bring a voice to the change that is happening in Hollywood today.

Longtime fan of Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” Nia Saldana shared her opinion on the announcement of the remake: “I hope that they stay true to the original story and don’t make it too cliche, but I’m excited overall.”
