Well Mustangs, it’s been an exciting time for Roosevelt Football so far, as we’re currently two months into the fall season. With some exceptional wins, and a few losses, it can be agreed that regardless of the outcome for the remainder of this season, football will definitely have a successful rest of the season. That being said, currently being in mid football season, it’s reasonable to begin thinking about the next seasonal sport, post football.

While football is not far from ending their season, it’s not irrational to begin taking into consideration our Roosevelt basketball team, who’s currently in their pre-pre season, in preparation to take over Roosevelt pride and support, after football completes their assumingly successful season. The Roosevelt Review had the opportunity this week to  interview two JV basketball players, and inquiry them regarding the upcoming basketball season that’s quickly approaching, in addition to some of their expectations for the following season.

“So far our pre-season’s been pretty good, and as for expectations, we just expect as always to beat everyone, and definitely go to CIF and hopefully win state.” JV player Joshua Taylor comments. Although basketball season is roughly two months away, JV and Varsity teams are definitely preparing for the challenges they expect to encounter this season.

“Well obviously we want to accomplish what we did last year, which was win state, but we’re definitely taking baby steps when approaching the matter though. Like first we’ve got to compete within our league and rank well in tournaments, in addition to winning all regular games, and then gradually make our way to state and CIF. Because honestly it’s a long process, but I think we’re going to have a successful season overall.” Also JV basketball player Chine commented.

Well you heard it Mustangs, I know we’ve got awhile before basketball season emerges, but continue to tune in over the next few weeks for additional coverage of basketball and their goals and aspirations for the upcoming season.
