Once again, a hurricane has hit North America. After tearing through Central America, killing at least twenty-two people, Hurricane Nate struck Mississippi, making it the first hurricane to make landfall in the area since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Fortunately, it has lowered to a tropical storm, and will not be levels 3 to 5 one like the ones in September. This is the sixth hurricane to hit America within two months this year.

Danny Nguyen, a student at ERHS, states that it may be “Mother Nature putting her wrath on us,” commenting on how this is how nature works. He adds that “it is very unfortunate” how America is being battered by natural disasters.

If that wasn’t enough, tropical storm Ophelia is headed in the general direction of the US, and may become a hurricane. Its trajectory is still under study, and may not make landfall in America at all. However, There is still a possibility that it will affect the United States. More information will be available soon, so all we can do is wait for the results.
