This past weekend on Sept 8-10, the Day and Night festival was filled with the most current and popular rappers singers of our generation. So much amazing talent was presented to the stage such as SZA, Kendrick Lamar, YG, Lil Uzi, Playboi Carti, Earl Sweatshirt, Post Malone and many more.

Social media blew up once the lineup was released and tickets sold like crazy. People hassled to get money for these tickets to experience the best of their time. The Day and Night fest was probably the biggest fest that has happened since Coachella 2017.

One of the most popular performances that took place was Kendrick Lamar and YG based off of what the majority of people have said in the media. Kendrick performed hits from his 2nd studio album “DAMN,” which he performed for the audience, the highlight being his mainstream hit “HUMBLE.” That had everybody hyped with his astonishing skills on the mic.

YG, Compton’s outspoken and carefree rapper, performed “FDT,” one of his most popular songs based off of President Trump’s election. With those two guys representing and setting the mood for the fest, it sure did leave an impact on some people.

Ricky Miller, a close friend of mine who is a senior told me about his experience at Day N Night. ” It was really dope, and cool experience. Wish the Suicide Boys were there, but I had a blast with my friends.” The Suicide Boys are a rap duo from New Orleans and are just now becoming known around the way.

Another friend of mine, Arielle Kay who is a graduate from here, said ” it was totally worth the wait and my favorite person there was most definitely Dexter.”

Do not miss out next year on a fun festival like this, full of youth and talent in the air. Make sure you get your tickets right away, you do not want to miss out on all of the fun.
