Roosevelt junior Matthew Huo continued his success on Thursday, May 18th as he advanced to the CIF-SCGA Southern California Regional. His score of +7 over 18 holes at Rancho San Marcos Golf Course was good enough to qualify for the next round of play.

It was far from Huo’s best round of the year. He finished the front nine one stroke over par; however, a number of bogeys and double bogeys on the back nine left him at seven strokes over par by the end of the round. He was tasked with playing in a playoff hole to determine if he would move on. A par on the playoff hole allowed him to move onto the next round of CIF play. He will look to continue his success at Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena next Thursday.
