Spookfest, an annual Halloween event held by Link Crew and eSTEM, is finally here! If you’ve been paying attention to any of the posters on your way to class, you’ll notice that they say plenty of details on Spookfest’s entry requirements, however not much information on Spookfest itself. Although the creepy, bloody posters have very important information on them, what’s Spookfest really about?

For starters, Spookfest is a cash only event happening in the evening from six to nine. Each year they have a theme for the event, and this year’s is a camp site serial killer is on the loose. At the front doors of the eSTEM building, students are required to pay a $5 entry fee, or they can even pay for a $10 VIP pass. The VIP pass allows you to have several exclusive experiences that are prohibited or cost more for everyone else, such as the haunted maze. Without the VIP pass, entry for the haunted maze is three dollars, but with the VIP pass it’s free dollars!
“The VIP pass for Spookfest… Also gives them a fast pass for an expedited access to the line” Says Josh Salacup, an eSTEM ambassador and Link Crew leader here at ERHS.
This event is commonly known as a fun opportunity to hang out with friends and check out club booths our student body has to offer. Last year, clubs such as Makers Club and ERHS Sprouts had their own booths to promote their clubs and even had fun activities, give-aways, candy, and more!
“Last year Makers Club gave out these cool 3D printed keychains and I still have mine.” Said Jordynn Carmona, a student who went to last year’s Spookfest.

The event also provides all kinds of food and snacks to have throughout the night, such as a fun themed Catalyst Cafe, a Tacos El Pochito truck, and so many sweet treats you can fill your pockets with!
There are plenty of students volunteering as actresses to help make the event as lively, or I guess as haunted as possible at Spookfest! Students are dressed up as zombies all around to scare the life out of students, especially in the haunted maze. There are also students working at booths that aren’t club related. Last year, Spookfest had students setting face painting, psych card readings, and some were even selling baked goods!
Hope to see you at Spookfest mustangs, but more importantly we hope to see you make it out alive!
