The Senior Sendoff event at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, originally scheduled for April 25, 2025, has been cancelled. The event, which was set to take place from 6:30 to 9:30 pm in the school’s quad, was going to have a screening of High School Musical 3 along with several activities such as popcorn, a photo booth, childhood games, t-shirt signing, Jean painting, face painting, and food vendors. Tickets were available for five dollars during the pre-sale or seven dollars at the door and were open to all grade levels.
Unfortunately, in an email sent out to students, administration announced that the event was cancelled due to low ticket sales. Although it is a disappointing outcome, the school promised to organize some other activities during the last week of school for seniors only.

Before the event was cancelled, there were several students very excited for some of the activities that were planned. A student at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Emily Voong, mentioned she was very excited for the jean painting station. Voong states,
“I’m honestly really excited for the jeans painting station because I have never heard of such a thing and it sounds really fun!”
She later states that Senior Send Off seems like a great place to spend time with friends. Voong states,
“It’s one of the last chances to have a fun time with my senior friends.”
Another student at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Melody Tsao, has also expressed her excitement for the activities. Tsao states,
“I’m probably most excited for the jean painting or face painting since I like art, and I think painting jeans are an amazing way to have a part of high school with you.”
While the event being cancelled is definitely disappointing, seniors are encouraged to keep an eye on their school email and social media for announcements about new events.
