Monday was our High School’s Winter rally! It was time to recognize and celebrate our school’s sports and clubs. There were many different performances and games to participate in.
Drumline started the rally, followed by FLAVA, featuring their signature dances that always get the crowds hyped. The Chinese Culture Club and the Bollywood Club also had great performances. Sports recognized at the winter rally were: boys’ soccer, boy’s basketball, girl’s soccer, and wrestling. Athletes felt appreciated by their peers and staff.
The crowd was excited by each performance, they were clapping, cheering, and having a great time.
At the end of the rally, the scream-off took place, which is when each grade competes to have the best/loudest scream. And the win went to the Seniors! Class of 2025 ended the winter rally with the loudest scream!
After the rally, I asked audience members what they thought.
Julian Zelaya, a student at Roosevelt shared his opinion, he said.
” I enjoyed the rally! It was good”
Roman Matthews, another student also shared his thoughts about the rally.
“It was okay, I thought it could have been better.”
Two different perspectives on the rally! But there is nothing wrong with that.
In almost everything we do there are people with different perspectives and opinions. Students probably also have different opinions if they are performers or in the audience.
In my opinion, I agree with Roman’s opinion, it would have been an even better rally if there had been more time for performers and games. The performances were good, and the games were cool, but I thought they could have added more performances and more games to the rally, also the rally seemed to have finished fast. Or maybe its because I was having fun and the time went fast!
Make sure to stay tuned for the next rally! Thank you for reading. 🙂
