February 7, 2020
In 2005 a new show based off of a British comedy show, The Office (U.S.) aired for the first time and continued for nine ongoing seasons. Recently in 2019, two stars from the show, Jenna Fischer (Pam) and Angela Kinsey (Angela) started a new podcast where they break down each episode from The Office, and add or tell an interesting fact from behind the scenes, favorite part of that episode ,and the process of making that particular episode. These two lovely ladies became best friends while filming this tv show and wanted all The Office enthusiasts to commemorate the unforgettable show. The podcast listenings are roughly 45 minutes to an hour long, and the co-stars bring in special guests from the show such as Rainn Wilson, Phil Shea, Paul Feig, Creed Bratton and more to talk about their experience on the show, and interesting facts no one would know unless you were in the show. Fans of the show were very excited of what this might bring, and Rene De La Torre introduced his thoughts of the podcast,”There is a sense that they love doing this podcast. They really seem to enjoy reliving and sharing their experiences with their fans. I think that is very unique.”
I, an Office fanatic, was extremely interested, when I discovered that this podcast was going to be made because I absolutely loved the show from Michael Scott’s Chris Rock impression to Jim and Pam’s wedding. De La Torre also adds what the podcast really accomplish,”they [Fischer and Kinsey] really dissect every episode was made, how they felt during the creation of the episode and the end result.” Many other audience members who loved the show such as Omar De La Torre inputs his opinion on the show,” It was very easy to relate to the comedy and witty characters because I feel like I could relate to everyone of those characters. By the end of the show I felt like I had been working in the office and been there the whole time.” Statistics also say that 95% of people like this TV show and is given 88% rotten tomatoes, Omar De La Torre embraces his view of the special qualities of the show,”The Office is one of the funniest sitcoms I have ever watched, the witty humor, well developed characters and the way it was taped as they were doing a documentary is what made this show one of a kind.”
