Hey Mustangs! Winter Formal Nominations were on Friday, November 22 at both lunches. Winter Formal Nominations are the process of selecting a girl and boy candidates to be Winter Formal King and Queen.

I asked Tamra Clairborne and Joshua Miwa why they wanted to run for Winter Formal Queen and King and if they are running by themselves or with someone. Tamra Clairborne said, “I wanted to run for Winter Formal because even though it may not seem like it, I am actually shy (Until you get to know me). Running for a dance in general is putting myself out there and that is something I have never really done. I am also running with my best guy friend Josh.” Miwa responded, “I really wanted to run for Winter Formal because it is a chance for me to put myself out there. I also want to make my senior year enjoyable whether I win or lose. The process and the experience has been so much fun. I am running with Tamra, who has just been awesome with promoting and being someone who is willing to get the people around her to the goals they set for themselves.” I also asked what are their plans to get people to vote for them and Miwa replied, “My plans are just to promote on social media that we are running, along with just simply asking people to vote and help us by posting our advertisement. It’s really nice knowing that people you are not close to are kind enough to help you out, so I have faith in my friends and the people around me to help Tamra and I reach our goal!” Clairborne said, “I actually made a little advertisement committee with people I picked that belong to the various friend groups I know to help post on social media and get the word out to people.”

The candidates found out if they got nominated on Friday also.
