Game of Thrones returned for its eighth and final season on Sunday night after a near two-year absence. HBO aired episode one of the fantasy epic simultaneously in the US and the UK. Many secrets were revealed and families reunited as the battle for the Iron Throne intensified, with the “undead” army inching even closer. According to “The Sun” the show which has been running since 2011 was a, “…heady mix of dark twists and breathtaking moments and helped the series opener live up to the expectations.” The Game of Thrones writers have been changing up many things in the series, and hitting major plot developments right off the bat.

Season 8 of Game of Thrones is different from all the other seasons because it had an amazing build up and gives a sense of what the other episodes will be like. The first episode shocked many people because of how many secrets were unleashed so soon and so abruptly. Monique Garcia, a senior a long time fan of the show said, “It was crazy how different this season was than the other seasons, I loved the twists and the way it flowed. It was truly amazing.” Game of Thrones will always be a fan favorite because of the way the show is filmed and the amazing time and effort put into the show.
