NBA All Star Weekend

The NBA All Star Weekend was an event filled with great acts and impressive feats. This year it was hosted in Charlotte, North Carolina. The weekend opened up with the Celebrity Game where stars like Quavo, JB Smoove and Ray Allen battled it out in a close one. In regards to the actual game, the home team, Team Staley defeated Team Bird(away) 82-80.

The next event was the Rising Stars Game which featured many of the NBA’s great young talent on display. Players like Kyle Kuzma and Ben Simmons were crucial for their team in an intense battle where Team USA defeated Team World 161-144. Saturday was filled with skill challenges with the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, Mountain Dew 3-Point Challenge, and AT&T Slam Dunk Challenge with each challenge jam packed with incredible players. The Slam Dunk Challenge however was the most memorable because of the decisive victory from Hamidou Diallo. His final dunk consisted of him dunking over Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal who is 7’1″.

Sunday concluded with the All Star Game in which Team Lebron and Team Giannis battled it out in all four quarters. J.Cole performed new music during the Halftime Show featuring his one of his mainstream hits such as Middle Child. Natalie Alvarado , a junior at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, was pleased tosee  him at the game

She stated,”This is awesome how he finally made the stage to the All Star Game. This is a big accomplishment.” Natalie continued with statements about how impactful his performanance was. She said,”This performance brings more people to watch the game and thus giving J.Cole more recognition as an Artist.”

After Halftime, Team Lebron and Team Giannis were neck and neck but ultimately gave way to Team Lebron in the end. The final score was 178-164 and the MVP was given to Kevin Durant who scored 31 points, picked up 7 rebounds and dished out 2 assists. What did you think about NBA All Star Weekend Mustangs?
