On February 8, 2019, our Roosevelt Varsity Boys’ Basketball played against the Jserra Catholic Lions in the Playoff game and lost. The final score of the game was 75-56. Our final league record was eight wins to two losses, which is nonetheless an incredible  accomplishment.

A junior on varsity, Brandon Porter, said, “Our last game against Jserra was okay. We were off to great start, but then we kind of lost it. I am very excited for next season, so we will see how it goes and we will miss the seniors a lot.”

The game against Jserra Catholic was the Boys’ Basketball Senior’s last game of their high school basketball careers. We wish their six seniors, Coree Joseph, Divine Nwoko, Aamari Smith, Keith Lind, Devin Murphy, and Jayden Evans, the best of luck after high school, and we hope to hear of all of them playing in college.

Another junior, Sasjah Dade, stated, “I am so glad I got to watch the last basketball game of the season and I am so excited to see the new, incoming talent on the team next year.” We cannot wait to see what next season has in store for our Boys’ Basketball program!
