Mark Lawrence Richard Jr. or better known by his fans, Witt Lowry, is an underrated hip-hop artist who recently released a music video for his latest song “Hurt” Feat. Deion Reverie directed by Drew Kirsch. A snippet back in December of 2018, getting his fans excited.

As of January 14, 2019, the song has been released, on the youtube trending page at #13. The song seems well received by his fans, and anyone just discovering the artist, seem to enjoy the song as they’re able to relate to the what’s being said.

The song itself seems to be about how it hurts after ending a relationship, how after being cheated on you can still have lingering feelings for that person. In the song you can hear that Witt himself, is still hurting inside. I believe some people listening will be able to relate as ending a relationship isn’t the easiest thing, and after you might still be thinking about them.

The video itself provides a much more in depth meaning behind the artist thought process, as you can see him  trying to move on by going on dates with other women, trying to change, but still can’t stop thinking of his ex.

Our fellow mustangs were asked whether have never heard of the artist before, have watched the video.

Alexander Lopez, a Junior, gave his opinion on the video, “I like how it highlights symbolism, like how he’s trying to change his ways.  because when they see their ex they shutdown. I like how he trembles at the sight of his ex  because he wants to be a different person.”

Eric Barajas, a junior, said, “I thought it was powerful knowing that people can’t get over that one person you spent so much time with. It’s hard trying to move on and find somebody else.” If you haven’t  heard of Witt Lowry, Be sure to go view him and his work now!
