School Safety 101-Fire Near Campus

School Safety 101-Fire Near Campus

Ravyn Warner, Chief Sports Editor

On Thursday, October 13th, around 11:20 am, during the first lunch of the day, the dumpster right next to the barrier street between ERHS and River Heights Intermediate caught on fire due to spontaneous combustion of green material. NO students or staff were endangered as it was far from school grounds and was contained immediately by law enforcement and the Eastvale fire department. Please do your best to encourage other students to not spread rumors and exaggerate the nature of the fire. Our principal, Mr. Goins, reached out to all ERHS staff yesterday afternoon explaining that “In the event of an emergency students SHOULD NOT run towards it. This exacerbates the situation and is dangerous (yes this happened).” Always remember……Pay attention during fire and earthquake drills, practice staying calm in these situations, and always follow the specific instructions from authorities!
