2016 2nd Presidential Debate

Processed questions & character reflections… Probably the most hectic debate in United States history! The heated segments were moderated by CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC’s Martha Raddatz. Awkwardness and conflicts arose as soon as the debate between Clinton and Trump began. Both candidates had a difficult time staying on track and instead, deflected from the main topic of most of the questions. When a question about healthcare reform was addressed, Clinton spoke that she always had desire to reform and overall repair the law. Trump however explained the calls to repeal what he described as a disastrous law and replace it instead with “plans that are so good, because we’re going to have so much competition.” Just an example of how both candidates used their slick words and serious claims to drive off from the original question. During conclusion of the debate, the character of both candidates was questioned by an audience member, Karl Becker, a town hall participant, as he asked what they both can respect about each other as candidates. Hillary starting off with her 2-minute explanation in depth claimed she respected his children and their devotion as Trump followed and said he respected that Clinton is a “fighter” who “doesn’t give up.” A much more subtle way to end the vigorous battle between the two. The technical “winner” of the debate is still unannounced and to be determined. Let’s all hope the next debate on October 19th, 2016 is more productive!
