With the holiday season right around the corner, you might be thinking about what toys to get your little brother,  sister, or any family member who loves toys. Where do you start? There are so many toys manufactured daily, but we want to know what the most popular toys are. When kids think about the holidays they think about a new plush stuffed animal,  a new nerf gun, or the new limited edition Barbie doll. The Roosevelt Review did some research and found some pretty hot toys that will get the attention of many eager parents hoping to make their child happy.

According to, toys4minds.com, the #1 top selling toy for children is The “Grumblie”. The Grumblie is an angry monster stuff animal that is interactive. The more you poke him, the more angry he gets! This toy is for ages 3 and up and there is 4 different Grumblies to choose from. There is Hydro, who loves water, Bolt who shoots out electric bursts, Tremor who shakes its surroundings, and Scorch who will turn everything to lava. Grumblies can make over 40 different sounds.

For girls, one toy that is liked among many are the “Hairdorable Collectible Surprise Dolls and Accessories.” The dolls are based on the 12 iconic girls who run the YouTube series, Hairdorables. The collectibles feature a girl squad with different colored hair and different outfits, which you can change. Each package you get has a different surprise inside. There are 36 Hairdorable dolls in total, and each one has a different look which you can customize. Every little girl dreams of having one of these amazing dolls.

One toy that really stands out for infants is the “Fisher-Price Smart Moves Rockit.”Babies can play, learn and groove along with this very interactive toy.  It teaches infants there alphabets, colors, and shapes. It is the perfect gift to keep your child happy and keep them occupied. The recommended age for this toy is 6 to 36 months.

When we went around and interviewed people about toys, their face lit up with childish wonder. Sydni Broxton, a senior here on campus stated that, “When I was younger, toys really made me feel more connected with things and people around me, they made me happy.” Another person eager to be interviewed was Haley Pyne, also a senior here on campus. She explained that “Growing up I loved Barbie dolls, and still collect them to this day.”
