Halloween (Movie)

It’s Halloween time and everyone is entitled to one good scare. This year, Michael Myers is slashing his way into theaters once again on October 19 in the upcoming film “Halloween directed by David Gordon Green. “Halloween” is a direct sequel to the original movie taking place 40 years after the first installment under the same name back in 1978 directed by John Carpenter.

Everyone knows the sound of those dreaded piano keys, the signature keys of the iconic Michael Myers theme, back in 78 to now. Even 40 years later, it still sends a chill down our spines. Regardless of how silly the low budget film may seem, the original “Halloween” is an absolutely merciless thriller scaring everyone witless by the time the end-credits roll. Despite some unnecessary R-rated elements, this movie still provides frightening moments with more taste and subtlety (you rarely ever see any blood).

Given that John Carpenter is overseeing the soundtrack for the new “Halloween” movie, the legendary filmmaker may not be entirely unbiased when it comes to David Gordan  Green’s sequel. Regardless, Carpenter gives Green’s work two thumbs-up in a newly released clip mixing footage from the new film with interview material.

In his interview, Carpenter states, “This is as good as I’ve seen since we did the first movie,” says Carpenter, who both directed and co-wrote 1978’s original “Halloween”

Jamie Lee Curtis, the actress who is reprising her signature role of the Michael Myers-battling Laurie Strode in Green’s film says, “It is intense, just brutal.”

Overall, the new movie is already getting an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes proving the upcoming re installment worthy of watching this Halloween.
