Quebec wanting Independence

Quebec wanting Independence

Canada is a bilingual country where French and English are the 2 official languages spoken in the country. The province of Quebec is the one area where they mainly speak French, everywhere else speaking mainly English for the fact that Canada was owned by France and England, Quebec being owned by France in the past.

As Quebec speaks French they feel that the rest of Canada is going against the  Canadian constitution as they feel their province is the only one that speaks French. While some other parts of Canada believe that they aren’t doing anything wrong, the province of Quebec says otherwise.

In Canada, to have a seat in power it is required for that person to know French, but in Canada’s day to day life, most people primarily speak English and don’t bother to learn French. To the people of Quebec it seems unfair that their province is the only one that speaks primarily French. The people seeming to view their province as unique for the language they speak.

Asking around, Alfredo Alcaraz says “If they want to be their own country let them.”

If Quebec does separate from Canada, it would be its own country what would happen? There could be some tension between Canada and the new country. War would be highly unlikely. A new seat within the U.N. would be made. It’s uncertain what would come if the Quebec separates becoming its own country. Good or bad that’s for the people to determine, what’s known is that the population of the province seems supports the idea.

Will we have a new country?
Is tension growing? What will the future hold for Canada? These questions are undetermined but maybe they’ll be answered sooner than thought.
