Trump Visits Cali
March 18, 2018
Trump’s first visit to California as a president went from San Diego to Los Angeles. His first stop was in San Diego on Tuesday March 13, 2018, this stop to San Diego was to see his eight prototypes of his border wall. The question of how this wall would be paid for is still a question that is out there. All of these eight models can be between 18 feet to 30 feet high and all are 30 feet wide. Trump has also been trying different material along with concrete making four walls out of concrete and 4 with alternative materials. President Trump is very determined to achieve his campaign promise and will not be persuaded by California lawmakers about there concern of how the wall could be a waste of money. A White House spokeswoman, Sarah Huckabee, told reporters that Trump would not be picking a winning prototype during his visit in San Diego.
After Trump finished visiting San Diego he flew in Air Force One to Los Angeles International Airport, taking the Marine One helicopter into the city.
When Trump was in Los Angeles he attended a fundraising event in the Beverley Hills area that for his re-election campaign. Before Trump arrived at his fundraiser a protest was organized by the political group Union Del Barrio. Donors paid $250,000 to attend this event.
Along with Trump’s definite plans from his visit to California our Governor, Jerry Brown, invited trump to also visit our state’s high-speed rail construction projects. Mr. Brown made this statement ” You see, in California we are focusing on bridges, not walls,” in a letter sent to Trump.
I interviewed a neighbor, Billy Thompson, about what he thought of Trump visiting California and what he also thought of for his actions for coming here and this is what he had to say, “I really don’t care if Trump came to California, I didn’t even know about it till you just told me, his visits around the U.S. have no affect on me. For why he came here to California I find it dumb, he is proceeding with the idea for building a wall but has no plan of actually how he is going to do it, only possibility I see of a wall being built on our borders are if Trump pays for it himself, which sounds very unlikely, and if he hires constructions crews himself because no-one will just volunteer to do this job.”
