Starting in January, a formation has been taking place raising money for kids to watch the new out coming movie, “The  black panther”. Frederick Joseph started the campaign  for children from the boys and girls club of Harlem with mthe initial goal of 10,000$, as of today the goal has been exceeded reaching nearly 50,000$. ” I’m absolutely elated by the reception” said Frederick Joseph a marketer in New York. ” People are not only supporting the concept and the vision – people are actually doing something”.

Joseph  believed that the movies had a positive message and  was important to young children, especially African American, to see the movie. The movie has been described to shatter the normal mentality of black representation in Hollywood, including mostly black cast including a black superhero.

Joseph had a vision to go beyond the Harlem, and put a GoFundMe together. This attracted around 500 more pages that were added all together adding up to nearly 80,000$ for kids around the world to see ” Black Panther”. According to the official campaign page, donations have come in from every state and 50 countries including; Canada, The united kingdom, and Ghana.

A GoFundMe spokesperson, Bart Jackson, said ” GoFundMe is thrilled that Frederick helped inspire a global movement”

Joseph inferred the fundraising brought 60,000 kids to the movie theater to see ” Black Panther” based on the amount of money raised.

The fundraiser even caught the attention of the comedian, Ellen DeGeneres, who generously pledged to pay for all of the movie screenings. Sending the rest to other boy and girl clubs.

” That’s awesome,  this movie is definitely sending out a good message being a teenage black kid , this movie made me to even think of doing something incredible more than any other super hero I have seen.” 16 year old, Jayden Jones said.

” I think we’ve seen generally, when good content and good  films are made, people will support them- especially when it is something that’s groundbreaking like this. ” Joseph concludes.
