The war in Syria has only begun to worsen rather than improve, especially within the last few weeks.

A force known as the pro-Damascus have been warned by the Turkish to not enter the Afrin region. This force’s goal is to assist Kurdish fighters in resisting the Turkish offense.

Martha Gorrie, an individual who stays up to date with the news says, “It is absolutely shameful that this war is even occurring. Time after time, these people keep coming up with little things to have a war over which is despicable.”

Within the month of January, Turkey launched an assault against the YPG, whom they consider to be a threat. A large amount of paramilitary forces who are sided with Bashar al-Assad, the president of Syria, went to Afrin February 14.

A spokesman for Turkey’s president, Tayyip Erdogan, claims that a convoy was forced to retreat due to shellfire.

This was followed with a statement by a commander with Damascus who told media that pro-government forces in Afrin fired back at the Turkey rebels.

Russia reportedly intervened to stop Syrian troops from entering the territory in order to keep a good standing with Anakra. That would allow Moscow to advance its desire to arrange a treaty to solve the conflict.

Throughout the seven-year war, Moscow has had a major impact on Assad and Ankara since they backed the rebels. Suddenly, Ankara changed its views and decided to fix its issues with Russia and attempted to overthrow the Kurdish forces.

Mrs. Gorrie also claims, “Russia never should have gotten into this mess, but I suppose now that they are in it, they might as well do their best to fix the situation.”

While Kurdish leaders greatly want autonomy in Syria, the Assad regime wants to take back the entire country.

At times, each group has hinted at possibly coming to a long-term agreement, but they are both extremely vulnerable to foreign allies that are powerful who wrangle over Syria.
